Capuchin Friars in Oxford have recently installed a Gallery on the Streets, a project which present Jesus to the public in a visual way, by showcasing Catholic art on the gates of our fiary. It takes the work of The Society of Catholic Artists (Society of Catholic Artists SCA) and showcases their paintings for all to see, something which enriches our locality, those who walk past and also gives a showcase to artists and hopefully increases their sales.

The Society of Catholic Artists has been very supportive of the Gallery and artists have been glad to take part and both believers and non-believers who live locally have said they like having the Gallery there. These pictures go hand-in-hand with perspex containers further along the railings which offer passers-by free Catholic literature about the Good News.

Parishioners at Greyfriars have taken to this form of outreach and have kindly been funding it and keeping it going. It’s the new evangelisation Capuchin-style!
